Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the University Ridge General Manager and the direct supervision of the Head Golf Professional, this position is responsible for assisting with the daily activities of the University Ridge golf department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: reserving tee times for guests, greeting and providing directions for golfers, utilizing point of sale software, handling payment transactions for goods and services, checking and receiving merchandise, scheduling and supervising guest service staff, supporting the event coordinator in clerical duties, and overall promotion of University Ridge.
Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities: Completes customer service transactions and processing, assists in staff training, and provides golf instruction to ensure effective and efficient service to golf course patrons.
50% Answers questions, receives and processes golf course reservations, provides information, and completes retail transactions for golf course patrons 20% Assists with the implementation and execution of golf course sales, marketing campaigns, and inventory management to ensure alignment with established objectives and strategic initiatives 30% Assists with the recruitment, training, and supervision of golf course students and staff Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.

Qualifications: * PGA member or apprentice and/or graduate of an accredited PGM program is preferred * Working knowledge of golf course business * Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and organize a complex and varied workload * Working knowledge of selling and negotiating * Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse audience including guests, business partners, athletics staff and coaches.
* Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to lift 50 pounds * Ability to work any day of the week including early mornings and late evenings * An understanding of the operation of a major research university and an interest in promoting the Intercollegiate Athletic Programs * Knowledge of applicable NCAA, Big Ten and University/State regulations Work Schedule: 40 Hours a week.
Work Type: Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $17.

Additional Information: Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% University Staff appointment.
Pay rate will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
