As a fee-for-service unit, we focus on designing engaging and effective online and blended learning experiences for adults in formal and informal settings.
We support the educational needs of Extension specialists as well as state and federal agencies.
We are looking for an experienced learning designer to lead a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in creating online training on priority topic areas for USDA employees.
Successful applicants should be comfortable with eLearning tools and technologies as well as facilitating content discussion.

Responsibilities: Designs, develops, and enhances instructional activities, programs, and curricula.
Applies learning theory and instructional design models in the consultation, selection, and application of educational methodologies and technologies.
40% Designs and develops engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online 15% Designs, develops, organizes, maintains, and consults on instructional materials, activities, curricula, and assessment resources in accordance with current pedagogical practices, cognitive/learning science, and design tools and methods 15% Researches, designs, and/or acquires learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning 5% Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms 5% Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies 5% Collects, organizes, interprets, and disseminates data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness 15% Designs, develops, or recommends multimedia learning materials.
