Job Summary: The faculty member is responsible for providing inpatient consults within UW Health Hospital locations, including University Hospital and East Madison Hospital, for older adults in the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) program.
In addition, this faculty member may serve as medical director for one or more local nursing homes and provide primary care to patients in nursing homes.
The successful candidate will provide clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows, with clinical responsibilities at UW Health inpatient and outpatient approved locations.
Responsibilities: Position responsibilities for patient care include predominantly inpatient clinical care for older adult patients at UW Health approved locations.
Responsibilities will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other service appropriate to the position.

Education: Required Terminal Degree MD/DO or equivalent Qualifications: For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.
License/Certification: Required Eligible for Wisconsin medical license Required Board eligible or board certified in geriatrics.
Work Type: Full or Part Time: 80% - 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Anticipated Begin Date: JANUARY 01, 2024 Salary: Negotiable ANNUAL (12 months) Additional Information: The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.

This position will need to adhere to UW Health policies and affiliated requirements.
UW Health requires that anyone (all staff, faculty students, volunteers, and other affiliated individuals) working in or regularly accessing UW Health locations receive the COVID-19 primary vaccination series and first booster.
This position will be required to adhere to that policy and if not in full compliance to have a plan for achieving full compliance within 40 days of the first day of employment.
Additionally, you may be required to adhere to other vaccination requirements.
