Portage Community Schools has an opening for a Special Education Assistant.
The location is Bartels Middle School, grades 6 to 8.
The position is for *up to 29 hours per week (6 hours Mon to Thurs and 5 hours on Fri).
*The hours are during the *school year*.
The Special Education Assistant may work one on one with students or in groups.

Qualifications
1.
High School diploma, be able to pass a "Highly Qualified Test" and be eligible for Wisconsin DPI License.
2.
Above average interpersonal communication skills.
3.
Certified or certifiable for first aid, CPR and other related certification and/or training.
4.
Previous experience and general knowledge in working with children helpful.
5.
Ability to properly handle emergency situations.
6.
Physical ability such as lifting of students may be required.
7.
Work in a positive manner with students, staff, and the community.
8.
Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment
9.
Will need to support behavior, medical needs.
10.
Willingness to work with students with any disability.
Job Type: Part-time
