OUR TEAM:
The Scientific and Sales Training team creates and implements training solutions about Promega products, technologies, tools, and processes for global technical support, sales, and marketing personnel.
We are a diverse, distributed, and highly collaborative team, focused on effective learning experiences with a spirit of continual improvement and technology-driven advancement.
We partner with colleagues from a variety of teams to create and implement our training programs.
Our training solutions cover the spectrum of formats from online, asynchronous courses to highly interactive onsite classroom trainings, including hands-on experiences with Promega products at one of our global training centers.
The Scientific and Sales Training team is part of the Scientific Applications and Training Department under the Global Service and Support Division.
YOUR ROLE: You will lead and manage the design and development of training materials, in collaboration with sponsors, subject matter experts, and team personnel, ensuring alignment with event and program goals.
As the lead, you will use Instructional System Design (ISD) to create design plans, including learning goals and objectives, activities, practice, and feedback, along with timelines, tasks, and resources.
Partner with team members, presenters, and global training center personnel to implement training program.
*Onsite or hybrid work format is supported for this role; must be onsite to support training events and activities on our Madison campus, as well as for maintenance of our laboratory spaces and equipment.

JOB OBJECTIVE: Lead the design and manage the development of Promega product training for Promega sales personnel, technical support scientists, and distributors using a variety of formats, including online, webinar, and classroom (remote and onsite).
Work closely with the Scientific and Sales Training Instructional Design Team to align session design with the training program goals.
We are seeking a scientist with a background in molecular biology with bench experience who is creative, interested in designing training solutions, and has a strong desire to learn instructional design methodologies and instructional technologies in a team environment.
CORE DUTIES: 1.
Collaborate with senior members of the Instructional Design Team and stakeholders to identify knowledge and performance gaps, and determine learning goals and objectives.
2.
Align training session design with program goals, format, and structure under the guidance of senior members of the Instructional Design Team.
3.
Apply Instructional Design principles to develop engaging, interactive training sessions that achieve program and session learning goals.
4.
Create instructional design plans to guide development and implementation of online, classroom, and blended training solutions.
5.
Develop and/or partner with Subject Matter Experts to develop training materials, including presentations, activities, storyboards, scripts, job aids, and assessments aligned to program format, structure, and goals.
6.
Design and develop laboratory activities that meet the training needs and constraints to provide a valuable experience.
Perform laboratory experiments to support the development and validation of the laboratory activity.
7.
Serve as moderator, facilitator, and/or secondary instructor for live classroom and laboratory sessions (remote and onsite).
8.
Participate in training program effectiveness evaluation.
Use data and feedback for continuous improvement to training sessions.
9.
Act as Lab Liaison for maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Assist with the management of the training laboratories.
10.
Manage timelines, tasks, and progress for assigned training projects.
11.
Maintain confidentiality of training records, surveys, and correspondence.
12.
Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace.
Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with 4+ years of biotechnology post-graduate laboratory experience.
Master’s or PhD degree in biological sciences with 1+ years of biotechnology post-graduate laboratory experience.
Bench laboratory experience may be in academia, industry, or non-profit.
2.
Ability to learn Promega chemistries, technologies and instruments quickly and translate knowledge into effective training.
3.
Strong organization and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Adaptable to changing priorities, direction, and strategies.
4.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Takes ownership of projects and tasks.
5.
Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills to work across all levels of the organization, including subject matter experts, team members, and customers.
6.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including collaboration applications.
7.
Ability to work outside normal business hours to support training programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models, such as ADDIE.
2.
Experience conducting classroom or laboratory training or providing technical customer service in a business setting.
3.
Experience using scientific graphic and statistics programs (e.
g.
GraphPad Prism).
4.
Experience using instructional technologies, including Learning Management System (LMS), web conferencing software, course authoring tools, and audience response systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1.
Ability to use computers, tablets, and mobile devices for extended periods of time.
2.
Ability to work safely in a laboratory setting following Promega Environmental, Health & Safety guidelines and procedures.
