*Special Education Aide – *5 hours per day - starting with the 2023-24 school year, on days when school is in session.
Applicants must be able to obtain a Special Education Program Aide DPI License.
The pay for this position is between $17.
69 and $18.
89 per hour.
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of the student services director and under the direction of a special education teacher/related services staff, the special education aide will perform the following duties:
· Provide academic and behavioral/emotional support to individual students or small groups of students.
· Assist the teaching staff.
· Record data and maintain records.
· May be assigned to support students preschool through grade 12.
Qualifications / Abilities:
· Ability to provide individual and small group instructional reinforcement.
· Ability to follow teacher direction, written plans, individual education programs, and behavior intervention plans.
· Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
· Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
· Ability to walk, lift (up to 50 lbs.
), climb, bend, reach, and kneel.
· Ability to learn and use basic computer skills (e-mail, internet, word processing).
· Must be mature, patient and compassionate when working with all students.
