Instructional Designer
(2 Openings - Fixed Term Terminal)

In addition to providing high quality services, Service Operations brings value to UW institutions by reducing administrative burden and cost, thereby allowing them to invest time and resources into activities which are more central to their mission.
POSITION SUMMARY The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs, both synchronous and asynchronous for employees within the Universities of Wisconsin.
The Instructional Designer collaborates with various subject matter experts to identify training needs, develop content, deliver training, and assess the effectiveness of the training programs.
This role requires strong instructional design skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail and the ability to positively engage with others on the team.
The Instructional Designer positions (2) will assist in supporting ATP-related training efforts.
Both positions are considered fixed-term terminal with an expected job end date of 12/31/2025.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Major responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Develop, write and edit learning objectives and ensure they are aligned with business documentation and end-user business processes Facilitate courses and activities, guide learning to align with curriculum Work with subject matter experts and other team members to complete content development, prepare, and update specialized instructional materials and assessment tools to align with business objectives and strategy Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to support ongoing development and improvement of learning experiences for customers Review and analyze course evaluation data and determine appropriate action to incorporate feedback Measures participant performance and progress utilizing assessment tools to align with established mission and philosophy Engages in conversations on decision making and strategy in adult learning standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this position, applicants must have: 1-year Instructional Design work in a business setting OR Bachelor's Degree in instructional design or related field Experience in instructional design using instructional technology to design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and on-demand learning experiences Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design in a professional work environment Knowledge of or ability to learn complex business processing to design and develop learning experiences Effective written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated skill and experience providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Five (5) or more years of Instructional Design in a business setting in technical training development and facilitation Experience creating engaging, interactive eLearning content Experience with a variety of technology including Adobe Captivate and other Creative Cloud apps learning management systems, and online conference technology, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams Basic knowledge of streaming audio and video, file types and formats Planning, organization, and project management skills Knowledge of Workday or other ERP application fundamentals Experience working in the public sector or higher education CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT The UW System is required to conduct a criminal background and sexual harassment check for the selected finalist prior to employment.

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $65,000-$80,000 commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.
