*Position Summary *
Are you looking for a rewarding adventure this summer? Girl Scouts is seeking high-energy, seasonal Unit Counselors who relish the camp experience.
Successful candidates will share their enthusiasm for outdoor camp adventures while guiding girls to experience a fun and exciting week at camp.
Our goal is for each Girl Scout, by week’s end, to walk away from camp wanting more time with her counselors and friends.

*Dates of Employment*
* June 3rd, 2024 to August 9th, 2024 (earlier start and later end dates are possible upon request)
*Compensation*
* $450 weekly salary (includes room and board)
* $500 end of season bonus if fully worked through the position dates of employment
* $300 early sign on bonus (offer letter signed by March 15st, 2024)
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* Supervise campers’ participation in structured and unstructured activities, as well as overnight unit supervision.
* Be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of campers.
* Familiarize yourself with each girl in the unit, thereby ensuring your ability to influence respectful behavior while cultivating positive self-image and esteem.
* Implement thematic programs and activities while guiding campers through the step by step process.
* Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work in a rustic outdoor environment with irregular work hours.
* Implement various evening and overnight programming.
* Help campers follow directions and rules.
* Teach skills necessary to help the camper live comfortably in the camp setting and promote a sense of responsibility toward preservation of natural resources.
* Supervise and assist with unit cleaning, sanitation and care of supplies and equipment.
* Help each girl learn to respect the rights of others, and appreciate herself and others.
* Ensure implementation of Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
* Participate in pre-camp staff training.
* Assist in the opening and closing procedures of camp.
* Comprehend and implement emergency procedures, through regular practice drills.
* Other duties as assigned
*Physical Requirements*
* Experience in teaching, guiding and working with children.
* Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
* At least 18 years of age.
* Ability to lift 40 lbs.
* Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work irregular hours in a rustic outdoor environment and through possible irregular weather conditions.
* Physical demands and work environment regularly requires the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
* Be or become Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified
