ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Completes all necessary preparation for the day.
Makes sure that products meet quality standards.
Assesses the quality of raw materials before baking.
Ensures the proper storage of baking and kitchen utensils.
Checks that all food is prepared is fresh and disposes of items that are past-date.
Maintains the kitchen and pastry areas to be clean at all times.
Assists with other duties as assigned in the kitchen.
As needed, assists with cooking/baking demonstrations and catering events.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Highly communicative and organized, communicates often with the kitchen leadership team.
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Has an understanding of chemical and physical reactions involved in baking and cooking.
Demonstrates able to create an attractive end product.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING Minimum of two years culinary training or equivalent experience working in a kitchen.
Knowledge of state and county regulations and kitchen sanitation procedures.
ServSafe certified or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
Knowledge of the safe use of knives, all commercial kitchen equipment, commercial dish machines, cleaning/sanitizing equipment and rolling carts.
