As a brewer assistant you will work directly with our head brewer assisting in the creation and transpiration of our award winning products.
In addition, the assistant brewer is responsible for pre- and post cleaning and sanitation of all transfer lines and vessels.
The assistant brewer also is responsible for cellar tasks including, but not limited to, yeast pitching, filtration, beer transfers, tank CIPs, various fermentation additions, maintenance of parts and hoses, and the filling of casks and firkins.
Our brewer assistant works 8-12-hour shifts.
The brewer assistant is expected to be punctual, self-motivated, and contribute within a teamwork environment.
Once eligible for growth, this position may evolve into a Senior Brewer status, rewarding proficiency.
Responsibilities:
-Oversee the brewing process from start to finish, ensuring quality and consistency in every batch of craft beer produced
- Transport our award winning products between each of our brew pubs
- Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe brewing environment
- Operate and maintain brewing equipment, including brewhouse, fermenters, and packaging machinery
- Conduct regular quality control checks, including sensory evaluation, gravity readings, and pH testing
- Assist with packaging operations, including canning, bottling, labeling, and kegging
- Maintain accurate brewing records and inventory management systems
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in the food industry or craft beer production is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of brewing principles, techniques, and equipment is required
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
